This is a super easy and fun dish to make for that summer party you are having. It is also a super great dish to bring to a party. I mean, really, who wouldn’t want a watermelon bowl of fresh fruit? You’d have to be crazy to not want this at your party!

One of the nice things about this recipe, other than using fresh fruit is that you can make one bowl with your favorite fruits and the other bowl with fruits that others like best. It is entirely up to you on how you make these fruit bowls.

Super easy, just a lot of cutting and the use of a melon ball scoop. My favorite fruits are strawberries, bananas, kiwi, grapes, and melons.

Watermelon Bowl of Fresh Fruit

For this, you are going to need a watermelon and whatever fresh fruits you are going to want to serve in the watermelon bowls.

Steps for making your watermelon bowl

  1. First you will need to cut the watermelon in half.  Using a melon ball tool you will remove just about all the watermelon from within each half. Depending on the amount of fruit you have you may not want to put all the watermelon back into the “shell”.
  2. Take any other melon type fruits and do the same thing as with the watermelon. To make it easier, you can cut the fruits into quarters.
  3. Take all other assorted fresh fruits and slice them into pieces; strawberries into halves (unless substantial than quarters), pineapples into chunks, peel and separate the oranges, blueberries whole, kiwi’s into slices, and any other fruit you’d like to add to your fruit bowl.
  4. Take all fruit layer them into the “shell” of the watermelon.  You can also mix all the fruit up and then poor it into the “shell”, so you get a variety of fruit with each spoonful.

Remember, that you can use whatever fruits you want in this fruit bowl. You aren’t limited to just a few fruits, the sky is the limit. Add pineapple chunks, dragonfruit, papaya, grapes, the choices are all yours!
