I love being able to take the kids to the beach whenever we want. It’s even better when we can make the trip across the island and hit the nicer beaches that are sandy and great for snorkeling and bodyboarding. This is one of Thaddeus’ favorite beaches so far on the Big Island because Hapuna Beach is great for body boarding.
As you can see, Thaddeus had a great time body boarding. We had to be extra careful while we were there because there were some pretty good size waves and the surf was dangerous that day.
Hapuna Beach
Xavier enjoys any beach, especially when he is allowed to play in the sand, and he enjoys it even more when he can go into the water. We have to be careful with him hitting the water at most beaches in the winter due to the surf and him not knowing how to swim, but he loves going regardless.
While we were there, we were also hoping to spot some whales breaching. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a shot of one, but we did get to see it happen. What a cool site, hopefully, I’ll get some good shots of it happening soon.
Although a Hapuna Beach is a beautiful beach, it is also one that you have to be very careful swimming and body boarding at. It is not a protected cove beach, which means that the waves can be problematic at times, especially during high surf.
I love the pictures of the boys.! Being Nanna, I say a prayer for their safety. Glad they are having so much fun in their new home.
